L'Artiste
How a Piece Is Made
Colours are mixed and poured directly onto the canvas — no sketch, no plan, just intuition guiding the first move.
The canvas is tilted and turned by hand, letting gravity and colour negotiate the shape together.
Each piece rests undisturbed for days, the colours settling into the patterns that will never repeat.
A final coat protects the piece and brings out its depth — ready to leave the studio for good.
The Practice
Poured, not painted with a brush — colour is left free to move, blend, and settle in its own time.
No two pours behave the same way. Every piece is made once, and it exists exactly one time.
Every canvas, jewelry piece, and accessory is made by hand in Martine's studio in Lorraine, Quebec.
